African Lion Safari Tanzania
Lion Safaris Tours.
On a safari, most people are just interested to see lions. For that reason, Serengeti National Park is the right destination for people looking to see lions. You stand a very good chance of seeing the lions since most Tanzania’s National Parks have the lions, like the Ruaha National Park and Katavi National Par, having large population of lions. It becomes more interesting since their major prey animals like the buffaloes interact with each other. So for the best spot of lions, look at Tanzania Highlands-lions.
In our experience, the best way to find the lion is to stop, so the greater chances of seeing a lion is when stop and look more.
However, it doesn’t mean that you have to stop and study every insect or plant you see (although part of experience), but when you stop, your senses of smelling and hearing are activated. You may smell a kill or hear an alarm call made by an Impala(very loud and directed at lions).
Whereas vehicles that drive and pass do not cause any effect, vehicles that stop may affect the animals generally. (To see what is happening, a lion may stick its head up).
There might be fewer signs to show a carnivores presence. Look out for vultures at first and don’t be fooled by circling vultures. This means they are searching for their meals, which means that the meal is over and they are going up. The best indication is when vultures are on a tree in the middle of the day. (They could be just roosting before a bout 9am, before they can fly. Vultures have to first wait for their meals).
The best indicator to show a lion’s presence is the other animals, which are around. In particular the Impala, buffaloes and zebras watch out all staring in one direction (Snorting at one time). Chances stand that they all look at the lions.
