Katavi National Park Tanzania
Katavi National Park.
Katavi is underdeveloped, remote and has a variety of wild animals. The park is far from anyone and hard to penetrate compared to other wilderness safaris. Activities include Nature walks, Game drives in open vehicles and Fly camps safaris.
Katavi is close to Lake Tanganyika and Mahale Mountains in the far West of Tanzania, but virtually miles away from every where else. It is a big distance from any other Tanzania Safari camp and from Arusha. The place has a few tourists at present, despite new camps being built.
It might be too hard for many people to visit Katavi National Park, but it becomes more interesting and rewarding when it comes to seeing a variety of animals scattered all over the flood plains of Katisunga as you approach by air The place is truly wild and exciting when you feel the primeval atmosphere. Especially in the dry seasons, herds of buffaloes graze all over the plains, while several herds of elephants drink from the springs Tanzania Safari and feed on the plains and the hippos cram the seasonal rivers.
