Selous Safari Tanzania Wildlife
The Selous Game Reserve is dominated by thick impenetrable bush as you fly to Selous. There are few signs of human presence ad all what you see are buffaloes, hippos along the lake, crocodiles along the shores. As a result, you get to feel the wilderness experience.
When to go.
Selous Game Reserve has two rainy seasons; with short rains beginning in November (less to turn things green) and long rains begin in March and end in May. While between October and March especially being a costal tropical climate, it becomes humid and hot. Since Selous is a few hundred feet above sea level.
However, the good thing is Selous is that all the seasons are more rewarding. During the June to October dry season, water sources become very scarce, forcing animals to concentrate in a few areas with water sources. This time becomes the best if you are looking for a Fly camp since they do not usually operate in rain seasons.
