Sand River Selous.
Sand River Selous is a small First Class lodge built on the Northern bank of River Rifiji, at a point called Kibambawe. It has one of the most striking locations overlooking a mile wide stretch of Languid water almost 10 miles to Stigler’s Gorge Stream.

This lodge offers quality safaris away from the crowds, by foot, vehicle and boat.
From the sand rivers, a few lodges can rival views overlooking Rufiji River at its highest oint.
The lodge offers top quality luxury and authenticity, giving visitors a chance to also taste the wilderness experience in the Northern sector of Selous Game Reserve. The rooms are well-furnished and beautifully constructed with the best services and first class food. Wildlife is

also in plenty and you can access the wild from walking safaris, fly camps, boat safaris and game drives in land rovers.

The camp was built by Richard Bonham who used the area for safari walking when the area was

unknown throughout the 80s.
Sand rivers still remains with its top quality and with well experienced guides who take you to the remote areas of Selous Game Reserve.

You can as well experience the bush from your verandah, superbly in all directions, walking in

the bush or fly camping.
The lodge is conveniently located in game viewing areas to access the wilderness easily by game

drives, flying camps and safari walks. You can have a chance to do what you fill like, due to the flexibility of the lodge as long as you are in the park rules, you will have a chance to

discuss (when you want) the activities for the next day with your guide every evening.

Sand rivers area is diverse and it ranges from the riverine forest, Rufiji River and Sand bank,
to flood plains, ox bow lakes and deciduous open woodland.
Vast open river beds game drives are more exciting especially in the dry season along the umbene sand rivers, accompanied by TZ highly enthusiastic and experienced guides.
Along the dry rivers particularly in the evening, its common to find large herds of giraffe

gathering as well as other species.

The lodge’s common specialities is Fly camping, which is offered to visitors ranging from 1 to 5 nights plus.
