In Tz, Selous is probably among the best wildlife experience. For almost 5 days, you will explore Selous Northern area by river and foot. In the wilderness or remote areas of Selous.
Different set of rules govern Selous since it’s a Game Reserve than those of national park.
Hence, walking is allowed here and it is more rewarding when you get on foot. Sand Rivers Camp organize these safaris along the well-trained Guides.
In Selous Game Reserve in the Northern area, a variety of terrain from the long Rifiji river at the base camp about a mile wide. The place you’ll spend your first night.
Its enormously exciting while you walk in this area despite the area being connected by impenetrable thick bush and sand rivers. Miombo woodland in grass plains, mosaic scrub and oxbow
lakes.
Selous is also an area that rewards when it comes to walking at the corridor. The place is also a home to a number of elephants, hippo and buffalo and a well-experienced guide will be able to put you in position to see these animals in a close range on your foot.
What makes Selous walking unique and contrast is moving to and from while in the boat and drifting downstream after 3 hours.
With your light-weight fly camp, you will be met by a small crew for support. In enormous dry river beds, camping is done on island in mid river and on shores of the lake is woodland.
Under the stars, you will eat 3-course dinner at night, sleeping in the open in mosquito nets.
The lowest way to experience the effect of a forest bush is by use of these fly camps and definitely the most exciting.
The camp offers the best experience to your safari in terms of drinks, good food, and hot showers. Small crew dedicated good service all necessary for a ful course immersion in the wild for almost 5 days. Walks tend to move in direction of game movements, but not the same route.
Possible routes.
Day 1: Island Fly Camp - From Sand River to Rufiji. Meet Fly Camp and boat of
Island.
Day 2: Sumbene Fly Camp to Stigler’s Gorge by boat.
Walk to Sumbere Sand river -Fly Camp on dry riverbed.
Day 3: Lake Tagalala Fly Camp - Walk to Lake Tagalala from Sand river,
Fly camp by Lake
Day 4: Beho Beho River - Walk to beho Beho river from Lake Tagalala on dry
river bed by fly camp.
Day 5: Return to Selous by vehicle.
