Selous Game Reserve is among the few parks that offer beautiful and quality grass root safari in Tanzania.
In Selous, you can experience the true nature of an African Safari big game drive; taking river safaris or safari walks, the camp is also accompanied with beautiful lakes, rivers, plains as well as being a home to a number of wild game.
Selous is one of Tanzania’s lesser-known places, despite of being the largest game reserve in Africa (50,000 sq km). The game reserve has one of the most exciting and friendly wilderness reserve game in Tanzania.

How to get there.
The friendly way to get to Selous Game Reserve is by air. From Dar-es-Salaam short distance flight of about 50-minutes daily flights. You can catch breakfast if you come with BA to Dar-es-Salaam.

Selous-Katavi                                 3 hours
Selous-Arusha (For Serengeti)      about 2 hours.

By Rail.
During Julius Nyerere’s regime, a Tazara railway was built by the Chinese. The rail moves through Northern Selous to Zambia. Until recently, a private train operated by Ruaha Foxes moves between Dar-es-Salaam and Mikumu (Runs forward and back ward) via Selous. By rail, you can have a chance of seeing elephants, buffaloes and quite a number of game. However, its not as simple as flying when travelling.
