The camp is located in a spectacular location in the Western Corridor of Serengeti National park as migration heads North across Grumeti.
The lavish luxury tented camp is also located in an area of all year round game destination.
Grumeti River Camp is a sister camp to Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, the same company belonging to Cons coup as well as owning both Klein’s Camp and Ngorongoro Crater Lodge. So you can expect to see the same level of luxury and services offered like in other camps.
The cost and degree of luxury, as a crater lodge will definitely (to some extent) appear over the top. However, with the level of luxury, originality and quality services offered, its worthy a visit for a couple of nights, if you are in Serengeti National Park.
Serengeti Safari Camp is a smaller Camp definitely for people looking for a more East African feel than Pan Africanism style.
Grumeti River Camp lies on an Ox bow pool along River Grumeti in the riverine tree shade in the Western corridor of Serengeti.
For the best experience of large herds of animals crossing the river (if you are lucky). On the way, rather large crocodiles braving a way. In Grumeti, you expect to see their being there in the right place at the right time.
In Serengeti, there are probably a few places where you can catch up with hippos and crocodiles. One being Grumeti River and a few being residents near the camp. The black and white Colobus monkeys and a variety of bird species in the plains, while a number of game species along the thick woodland near the river.
