With limited regulations, it’s the Serengeti being visited by a few visitors and its large part of Serengeti ecosystem, the park has walking safari first class game and night drives.
Loliondo is worth a separate park, since it offers more activities than those in Serengeti National Park, however, its ecosystem is part of the Serengeti Park.
Loliondo also experiences game at least as good as that of Serengeti, when migration hits this area in the month of December to May. So it becomes better to divide your stay in one location in Loliondo (Nomad’s Loliondo safari Camp), and another part in Serengeti National Park. This is intended for you to experience the true wilderness of this stunning area interacting with the Maasai who are habitats in this area taking night drives as well as experiencing wildebeest migrations.
Loliondo is located South of Kenya border starting at a place called Olosokwan Serengeti northern boundary and continues up to the Eastern border of Serengeti and to Ngorongoro Crater and highland foot to Piyaya and finally to the Gol mountains in the South. With Lobo, the Northeastern area is contiguous with over 1000ft hills and ridges dominating Klein’s near the Park gate. The area is more of hills and valleys than the park, with river lines in the forest thick acacia woodland belts, wooded hills with Kopjes dominating the Eastern side framed by mountains vast plains in a much open space do emerge as you are in the South close to Piyaya and Gol. While there, you will find a number of narrow gorges like the Olkarien being the home to Ruppells, Griffon vultures (over hundred) and the rare Lammergeyers, while the Selal plains extend towards the edge of the Great Rift valley lakes.
When to go.
During the dry season between July and November. Northern Loliondo reaches a hot spot for migration from Western corridor, crosses backwards and then up to Mara river and North to Bologonga and on the Mara river west of Kogatende.
In Serengeti, Northern Loliondo is one of the best places to stay by the end of November since the wildebeest start migrating southwards and in the Eastern plains. Southern Loliondo in Piyaya becomes one of the best game viewing places between December and June. Piyaya surrounding area is covered with a combination of Kopjes short grass plains spunning valleys and hills; Sanjan Gorge running to the Salei Plains river lines and the acacia woodland.

This is a small first class camp designed to meet the standards of the visitors with excellent activities such as night game drives (Not under the National parks restrictions, but part of the Seregeti ecosystem).
