Serengeti Wildlife Safari Tanzania Tour

Southern Serengeti plains.
The Southern plains cover from Ndutu Southeast of Serengeti National Park. Out to Moru Kopjes to the West and North to Naabi hill.
The place is covered by vast endless grass plains and stretch further than you can see especially in the areas of Naabi and Ndutu.
Off road driving is allowed here and you may reach somewhere you will experience Serengeti wilderness. You may certainly be in contact with large herds of wildebeests feeding on the plains, while at the Eastern edge of the plains lie a mature acacia woodland lying with two shallow soda lakes as well as Lake Masek and Ndutu being in stark contrast to the plains.

Migration peak starts between January and May as million wildebeest move into plains to graze on the fresh green grass (the area comes to life).
In close range, you may have a chance of seeing lions and leopards on the plains and they might look lifeless, but with time they start feeding on the wildebeests.

This becomes the right scene where predators get attracted to because it’s a wildebeest birth giving place. So there is much drama and plenty to see.

After the rain season, few sources of permanent stream of water is left, forcing the wildebeest to migrate.

You may have clear chances of seeing the cheetah around the edges, a chance to see caracal and serval cats. While in the woodland, you can see the elephants.

While in the lakes, you can see flamingos in big number and bird life along the woodland trees. Its more rewarding to combine it with a visit to Olduvai Gorge, which is not far from Ndutu, when coming.

Northern Serengeti section that runs from Northern Seronera (hill of Banagi) to the North of the Mara River on Kenyan Border.
In the Northern extension, there is great feeding of space and the area seems to look different to the West and South. The underlying granites in the area are revealed due to the gentle undulation area cut by a number of streams.

Two main ranges of hills are there in the East, raising over 7000ft, with flat tops above sea level. The hills of Lobo and Kuka are square shouldered.

As you drive through it, the numerous streams and belts of woodland despite of the vast scale, mean that the country is revealed to you.

As in contrast with the Southern plains, it makes the place an exciting place to visit.
While moving towards the North of Bologonga as you leave Lobo or West near Kogatende, you will never know what lies in the next corner. It becomes more remote and you are unlikely to see soul here in the busiest times.
