Chimpanzee Trekking Safari Tanzania

Chimpanzee trekking might seem different when you come to these parks. Quite a number of elements are not used unlike other park’s safaris.

Throughout the whole safari, you are on your feet and in a stunning forest which contains a number of West African species and you stand one chance of seeing them here in the whole of Tanzania.

You may find a chimpanzee passing by within a few feet from you and surprisingly, they less or more ignore you.  Definitely, in this position you stand a great chance of seeing their social life and behaviours.

Individual chimps are well-known in both Gombe and Muhale as well as their relationships and characters well recorded. As a result, intimacy is on a higher level. With this type of research, game viewing of this type becomes more exciting compared to any other chimp safari.

How its easy to see the chimpanzee.
There is a group habituated in both Gombe and Muhale. It becomes easier to see the chimps in muhale since the University of Kyoto studied the (“M” Group) since the 60s.
Chimps in Muhale can be found elsewhere below 8000ft on Muhale Mountain or 2500ft on the lakeshores.
However, with experienced trackers, you cannot miss out any chance of finding the chimpanzees.

The average time you should expect to walk is 2-3 hours depending on where the chimpanzee are. Sometimes they can be around the camp and other times move deep in the forests and stand to be seen no where, so the length of the walk is un predictable.

Chimpanzee sighting in the last few years was excellent with a few trackers not finding the chimps. However, with the trackers, they work extra herder until they find the chimpanzees or until you feel tired.
