Tanzania Climate, Geography and Weather
Tanzania’s Climate.
Tanzania’s climate is generally dominated by Inter tropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
An area of low pressure is created, where the Northeast and South east trade winds meet.
The ITCZ throughout the year moves North and South, but its centred around the equator, spanning around 5 degrees of latitude North and South.
Tanzania has a round 10 degrees of latitude and ranges from sea level at the coast to over 19000ft at the peak of Kilimanjaro.
So the clear view of the country’s weather is still in space. For more information, look at the right hand navigation menu for each park on the climate and season.
The only timing the ITCZ does is to suck moisture from the oceans and dropping it down on land. There are 2 seasons in Tanzania; the short one between October and February (Northeast monsoon “Kaskazi”), when the ITCZ is moving South, and the Longer ones (Southeast monsoon “Kusi”), when ITCZ is moving Northwards having sucked moisture in the ocean.
