Tembo House Hotel.
Set on a beach is Stone town. Its an attractive hotel with a nice swimming pool.
In traditional Zanzibar style, the rooms have spectacular views across the ocean and a small white sandy beach.
After a hot sunny day in Stone town, you can unwind yourself on the beach’s sandy spot and use the hotel’s lovely pool is you want to swim since its much safer and cleaner.
You can watch the sun as it sets in the Indian Ocean from the terrace, with your soft drink in hand. (However, alcohol is not served at this hotel), but along the road there are some pubs within a short distance.
The hotel has lovely pot plants curved doors, beautiful sitting room, glass windows and lovely antique furniture and not forgetting a sun deck for relaxation.
In late 1980’s, Dhow Palacetana Tembo house were among the first hotels to open for tourism in TZ.
In Stone Town, Tembo was one of the most exciting places to stay, due to its nice Arabic architecture and antiques, which has attracted the major groups for tourism in this area.

Swahili antiques and ornaments and arcentae are the decorations of Tembo hotels guest rooms.
There are 29 rooms with each having an air conditioner. Mini bar fridge with (only water and soda).
Other facilities include; Satelite television, ensuite bathrooms and telephone and a fan.
The hotel has two sections; the newer section having more space and comfortable rooms with excellent views of the ocean and pool area and the older section having a lot of excitement, with small rooms and more character.
In the new section of the hotel, we find that its not possible to guarantee a room in this section since staff is not happy with messing up rooms requested. However, when you book, we try to get the message across.
With finances from Africa, India and Orcent, the bathrooms and Sunkeni, blue tiled Arabian style and (sit down) hand-held showers.
The hotel has wooden balconies on many rooms over looking the swimming pool.
Book room 100 if your after a family room. The room is fantastic and beautiful, with spectacular views of a cross the ocean (in all sides) and a number of stained glass.
Location: In Shangani district of Stone town, on the beach front near Omni fort and Forodhani Gardens. From the Airport by road, its 10-minutes drive.
